How to use a WRX Trade spray can:
Release the cap and shake well for at least 1 – 2 minutes after hearing the agitator ball rattle inside. Apply in short blasts with constant finger pressure on the nozzle keeping the can 25 – 30cm from the surface to be painted. Apply in an even rate in double cross consecutive coats, shaking occasionally during coats.
What should I do before painting?
Generally, you should prepare the surface by removing dirt, grease, rust, wax, moisture and loose paint. Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free of contaminants. If painting uPVC it is recommended that the WRX Trade Primer be used due to the possibility of residual chemicals from prior cleaning and surface preparation.
How long does it take to dry?
• Touch – free in 5 to 20 minutes
• Fully dry in 8 to 12 hours
• Resistance to abrasions and chemicals in 24 hours
What is the coverage?
2.5 to 3 square metres, depending on the surface material.
Can I paint objects that will be subject to heat?
WRX Trade spray paints have temperature resistance up to 120 Degrees Celsius.
How do I prevent my spray can tip from clogging?
Prevent blocking by turning the can upside down and spraying until clear gas emerges. Also wipe front of nozzle clean.
Why do I have to shake the can well?
High quality ingredients and very high pigmentation levels guarantee good coverage. Shaking the can well ensures that the pigments and other ingredients mix well for a perfect job. Nano-technology is added for enhancing the molecular bonding between the resin and the pigment.
Is it necessary to use a primer before or for which surfaces?
Occasionally it may be advisable to use a primer before painting, for example, highly porous products like untreated timber, uPVC products, previously painted surfaces that have been painted with solvent based paints.
I am just looking for advice, I’ve bought the WRX effect bronze wheel spray and I’m wondering if it is strong enough for alloys wheels on its own or is a lacquer topcoat needed?
It is suitable for use on alloy wheels, a how to guide can be found on our website, www.wrxtrade.co.uk. Due to the harsh nature of being permanently subjected to the elements, often at speed, we would always recommend the use of a varnish/topcoat to protect the finished painted surface.
Can it be applied on a previously painted surface (metal / plastic / wood)?
WRX Trade spray paints can be applied to previously painted surfaces; however, the surface would need a light sanding to ‘key’ the surface and we would recommend the use of a primer in case a solvent based paint has previously been used.
Is it suitable for outdoor use? What can be done to protect it from the weather? (Wooden / Metal Garden chair table, fence, outside door, kennel etc.)
Yes, our range of spray paints is suitable for outdoor use. Due to the harsh nature of the outdoor elements we would recommend the use of a varnish/topcoat to protect the finished painted surface.
On which surfaces do you recommend sanding before use?
We recommend, for the best finish, all surfaces be lightly sanded prior to painting using a finely grained paper or sanding block. Ensure the surface is completely smooth and clean prior to painting.
Can I spray paint children’s toys / cot?
Due to the chemical compounds that make up the acrylic paint we do not recommend spraying children’s toys or baby’s furniture.
